Ways parents can support the classroom
experience ...
Please be sure to check your child's binder every night!
There are many different important items such as:
Homework, behavior, important notes from me and the office
Homework - Please check nightly to see what is happening. Some items are due
the next day (show and tell, items not completed at school, special events). The
monthly homework calendar is not officially due or checked until Fridays. This is
planned so that you can work on it during the nights that you do not have other
activities planned such as dance, sports, or church. As long as the homework for
the week is turned in on Friday morning, the child will receive credit and a reward.
Behavior Chart - Please check this every night. The majority of the time, your child
will come home with a green smiley face on each day. This means we had a great
day! If there is a note in the square or a frown, this means that I need parents to
discuss the behavior with their child at home. I do not write in student binders
unless there have been many warnings given and I feel parents need to know.
Important Notes - This can be critical. Checking the binder every night can make
huge difference when it comes to our parent/teacher communication. Also
information about school events, policies and procedures, and ways to stay
involved come home in this pocket of your child's binder. Check it routinely to stay
informed!
